Don Toro History

Don Toro was founded by José Tasso Bragança, owner of FreeFood Lda.

José spent most his life living in Italy and South America, acquiring a sharp knowledge of what outstanding food should be. “I started the Don Toro concept due to a personal need for a quality steak after moving to the Algarve from London. Several months after the opening, I realised that this need was shared by many people in the area.”

Opened in the historic center of Lagos (Western Algarve) in March 2006, the first restaurant was a huge success.  It was soon followed in 2007 by a second location in Almancil - a third in Alvor in 2009, and most recently, a fourth restaurant on the Vilamoura Marina.
